JSE-listed miner Sentula Mining on Monday announced that it expects headline earnings per share to come in between 20.10 cents and 23.32 cents for the year ended in March.
This compares with headline earnings per share of 16.06 cents reported in the previous year.
Sentula ascribed the increase in earnings to strong growth from continuing operations.
It said it expected to report a basic loss per share of between 88.33 cents and 89.54 cents, compared with earnings per share of 6.05 cents in 2011.
The company said the substantial increase in the loss per share was due to the R591m impairment charge from an unproductive equipment being held for resale at its discontinued Megacube open-cast mining operation. - I-Net Bridge
