On its first financial reporting in South Africa, JSE AltX-listed Bermudan financial services firm Southern View Finance posted a R124.6 million loss for the six months to December last year. The company, which was established in Bermuda in January last year and opted for a secondary listing on the JSE in October, said this performance was in line with its expectations. The first year of the company’s existence was a busy one. It listed on the Bermuda Stock Exchange in May and after listing on the JSE’s junior exchange, it completed acquisitions of Southern View Finance Mauritius and Southern View Finance UK. No dividend was declared for the period under review. – Londiwe Buthelezi
