Johannesburg - Teti Traffic workers will be reporting back to work on Monday after they downed tools on May 3 following a deadlock in wage negotiations.

The SA Transport and Allied Workers Union (Satawu) announced the strike had come to an end with workers signing a wage agreement.

They will receive a seven percent increase across the board backdated to January 1, 2016. The minimum wage will be R5 250. Payment of both will be made at the end of June.

Teti Traffic manages all traffic incidents including clearing up accident scenes on behalf of the SA National Roads Agency (Sanral).

Satawu spokesman Zanele Sabela said workers would also be entitled to a 13th cheque, which would be paid at the end of June.

“However, the employer was not able to make provision for the establishment of medical aid and provident funds as Teti Traffic’s contract with Sanral comes to an end in December this year,” said Sabela.
