Vodacom shares hit record high

Vodacom climb nearly 3 percent, touching a record high, after the South African mobile phone operator reported a 22 percent rise in first-half profit thanks to strong data growth and a favourable tax change.

Vodacom, a unit of Britain's Vodafone, is up 2.68 percent at 113.87 rand, not far from a record of 113.95 rand notched earlier in the session. - Reuters
