Ghana bonds jump on IMF deal hopes

London - Ghana's benchmark bond jumped on Friday as hopes mounted that the struggling west African country was nearing a financial assistance deal with the International Monetary Fund.

Ghana's deputy finance minister Cassiel Ato Forson told Reuters on Thursday after talks with the IMF in Washington that a deal was close and that a decisive meeting would take place in the first week of November.

The 2023 bond was up 4 cents on the dollar to 99.75 by 14:50 SA time. - Reuters
