Ghana’s consumer price inflation rose to a fresh three-year high of 11.8 percent last month but it was expected to ease once the harvest season began, the country’s statistics office said yesterday. Ghana’s July inflation figure, calculated on a rebased index for a second month, rose year on year from a revised figure of 11.6 percent in June. The rise is just outside the central bank’s target band of 2 percentage points either side of 9 percent but it was expected to start easing in the next few weeks. “The July 2013 inflation main drivers are clothing and footwear,” the office said. – Reuters
