Striking workers at Gold Fields’ operations in Ghana were likely to resume work yesterday following talks between their leaders and management, a union leader said. “We had a discussion with management and we have agreed that work should resume. That is likely to happen later today [yesterday],” Prince Ankrah, the general secretary of the Ghana Mineworkers Union said. Workers at the Tarkwa and Damang mines embarked on a wildcat strike last week. Gold Fields stock slid 1.83 percent to R64.22 yesterday. – Reuters
