Hong Kong close lower

Hong Kong - Hong Kong shares ended 0.28 percent lower on Tuesday after a top Federal Reserve official hinted that the US central bank could announce a wind down of its stimulus as early as next week.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index edged down 66.98 points to 23,744.19 on turnover of HK$52.11 billion ($6.72 billion).

Chinese shares ended flat.

The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index edged down 0.71 points to 2,237.49 on turnover of 95.6 billion yuan ($15.7 billion). - Sapa-AFP
