Italy's Premier Mario Monti said Friday that “the euro is here to stay, and we all mean it,” as the leaders of the eurozone's four biggest economies stood firm in the face of the debt crisis.
EU leaders needed to give markets and European citizens the assurance that “the great project which has been successful until now, the euro, is irreversible,” Monti said after the 4-way meeting in Rome. - Sapa-AFP
