Tokyo stocks close down

Tokyo stocks fell 0.75 percent on Tuesday, following a wobbly session on Wall Street and after Spanish borrowing costs shot to a record high.

The Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange lost 65.15 points to 8,655.87, while the broader Topix index of all first-section shares declined 0.56 percent, or 4.12 points, to 734.69. - Sapa-AFP
