SA’s reserves almost unchanged at $41bn

Pretoria- South Africa’s reserves were almost unchanged in June, data released by the South African Reserve Bank showed on 7 July.

Net gold and foreign exchange reserves rose slightly from $41.51 billion in May to $41.59 billion in June.

Gross reserves also increased slightly to $46.829 billion in June from $46.446 billion in May.

The Net Open Forward position, which shows the Bank’s unsettled claims and is usually cited as a source of long term volatility for the rand, fell slightly to $2.298 billion from $2.671 billion.
