SAA would continue to provide travel options to and from Argentina through partnerships, the airline said yesterday. “Although SAA will discontinue its own operated flights to Buenos Aires in… March next year, SAA customers will still be able to travel between both countries through numerous flights operated by SAA partners in South America,” chief executive Monwabisi Kalawe said. “SAA has implemented agreements with Star Alliance partners and other major airlines operating between São Paulo and Buenos Aires [and] other key South American destinations.” He said declining passenger volumes, the weaker rand and high fuel costs had played a role in SAA’s decision to end its 11 weekly flights to Argentina. Customers who had SAA reservations between Johannesburg and Buenos Aires from March 29 would be reaccommodated. – Sapa
