Johannesburg - South Africa’s largest schools operator, Curro Holdings, said on Friday that earnings per share (EPS) and headline earnings per share (HEPS) would vary by 20 percent or more from those reported in the previous comparable period.

“The company’s EPS and HEPS for the six months to end June will be between 21.2 cents and 22.7c per share compared to the 14.5c (restated from 14.8c as a result of the rights issue in May 2016) achieved for the prior corresponding period, being an increase of between 46 percent and 56 percent,” the company said.

The rights issue concluded during May requires the results for the corresponding six months to end June 2015 to be restated.

Curro expects an increase of between 44 percent and 54 percent in EPS and HEPS, respectively. It will announce its interim results on August 16.

Shares rose 0.38 percent to close at R40.
