Comment on this story

THE GOVERNMENT Technical Advisory Centre (GTAC), a new arm of the National Treasury, would manage the R9 billion jobs fund after a decision to transfer the responsibility from the Development Bank of Southern Africa, the department said on Friday. “We take very seriously the challenge of unemployment in this country, particularly for young unemployed people. We must work hard, and work together, to respond to the very difficult challenges we face,” Finance Minister Nhlanhla Nene said in a statement. GTAC was established as the National Treasury’s project management agency. – Dineo Faku
