Johannesburg - A new business newspaper was launched on Tuesday to improve the flow of information to small, medium, and micro enterprises (SMMEs), said the trade and industry department.
The free, full-colour, 20-page monthly publication called Small Business Connect, was launched by Trade and Industry Minister Rob Davies at the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research, in Pretoria.
The objective was for it to become the preferred source of information for SMMEs, and to give them information about access to markets, he said.
It sought to give small business a better understanding of the environment in which it operated, and to keep them abreast of developments in the various sectors of the economy.
Davies said the newspaper was part of a bigger plan to create productive entrepreneurs.
About 30 000 copies of the paper would be distributed to various government departments and business-focused areas. It would also be available online. - Sapa
