The Johannesburg Road Agency (JRA) has launched a mobile application that will allow road users to report problems. The “Find & Fix” mobile app, which was launched on Wednesday, will enable road users to report potholes, faulty traffic signals, storm water drains, manhole covers and other infrastructure issues to the JRA by using their smartphones, according to managing director Skhumbuzo Macozoma. “The app provides an accurate location with GPS co-ordinates, and makes it easy to provide photo evidence, which complements the JRA’s ability to plan repairs more scientifically based on reports and data received,” Macozoma said. The application, tagged as “snap it, send it and we’ll fix it”, was the first of its kind in South Africa, as well as the African continent and southern hemisphere, he said. The application is available for free download on most mobile operating system platforms. – Sapa
