Johannesburg - Former president Nelson Mandela was one of the greatest political figures of all time, Geely SA said on Friday.
“Madiba changed the course of history for the South African people, South Africa as a country, Africa as a continent, and the world,” the car company said in a statement.
“Our thoughts are with his family and the people of this beloved country.”
Quoting Mandela, Geely said that what counted in life was not the mere fact that people had lived, but the difference made to the lives of others should determine the significance of people's lives.
“Geely South Africa, the world and all South Africans join together in this deep sense of loss of the biggest South African icon ever,” the company said.
“May his legacy live on in all of us.”
