A PERMANENT Eskom chief executive would be appointed in the next few weeks, Public Enterprises Minister Lynne Brown said yesterday. “I intend taking this matter to cabinet soon with a view to announce a new appointment, latest by mid-August,” she said. “Following this, I have urged the board to move rapidly to fill all the other critical vacant executive positions to ensure the sustainability of the company.” Collin Matjila, who was appointed acting chief executive in March, has been accused of maladministration during his tenure as chief executive of Cosatu’s investment arm, Kopano Ke Matla. – Sapa
