Mustek: Dividends swell as revenue rises 13%

MUSTEK rewarded shareholders with higher dividends in the year to June as revenue grew on the back of demand for its products and services, the listed information technology products distributor said yesterday. Mustek declared a final dividend of 28c a share in the year to June compared with 23c a share last year. Mustek’s headline earnings a share were 38.3 percent higher at R1.0072 and basic earnings a share were 27.6 percent higher at R1.0007. Growth in sales of the Acer, Lenovo and Asus computer ranges as well as the Security range of distributed products helped boost revenue by 13.4 percent to R4.76 billion in the year to June. Shares in Mustek, the country’s largest assembler of personal computers and one of the largest distributors thereof, closed trade unchanged at R7.70 on the JSE yesterday, valuing the company at R821.5 million. – Dineo Faku
