Johannesburg - Great Wall Motor Company of China is to enter the South African vehicle market and plans to launch its Haval premium range of sport utility vehicles (SUVs) into the domestic market.
The company said on Friday it had directly entered the country by granting the GWM brand distribution rights to Haval Motors South Africa, one of its wholly owned subsidiaries.

It said this strategic decision was confirmation of the importance attached to the long-term future of the GWM brand in the region and was a very positive factor in ensuring the sustainability of the GWM brand.
The previous distributor was Great Wall Motors South Africa, which commenced distribution of GWM vehicles in 2007 and has established a national dealer network of more than 60 dealerships.
