Nigeria was building cargo terminals at 12 airports to help boost exports of farm produce, Yakubu Dati, the general manager of the airports authority, said last week. “Our airports are being rebuilt to provide means for exporting perishable and non-perishable agricultural output to remove waste, save time” and increase farmers’ income, Dati said. The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria was working with farmers and airlines to identify and serve foreign markets for produce such as peanuts, tomatoes, lettuce, peppers and mangoes, he said. – Bloomberg
