Johannesburg - International Relations and Co-operation Minister Maite Nkoana-Mashabane will travel to Moscow next week to attend the SA-Russia Joint Intergovernmental Committee (Itec) on trade and economics, her department said on Friday.
Nkoana Mashabane would co-chair the 11th session with the Minister for Natural Resources and Environment of the Russian Federation, Sergey Donskoi, scheduled for November 12 to 13.
Spokesman Clayson Monyela said the session would be preceded by a bilateral meeting hosted by Sergey Lavrov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
“The bilateral meeting will present an opportunity to discuss bilateral and multilateral co-operation between South Africa and Russia as well as issues on the global agenda.”
The Itec was a bilateral co-operation mechanism between South Africa and the Russian Federation, which meets annually to consider technical co-operation between the two countries.
