THE PLANNED development of a R2 billion aqua-farming facility on 300 hectares of land in the Coega industrial development zone near Port Elizabeth, which could potentially create thousands of direct jobs, was announced yesterday. Coega Development Corporation agro-processing project manager Keith du Plessis said the envisaged facility would focus on the commercial cultivation of marine animals and plants. Du Plessis believed about 5 000 jobs could be created for the local economy. – Roy Cokayne
