Johannesburg - South Africa's seasonally-adjusted HSBC Purchasing Managers' Index dipped to 50.5 in December from 51.6 in November but was still in expansionary territory, pointing to an improvement in operating conditions in the private sector.
“While the headline PMI remained in positive territory, the December reading was the weakest in three months, with the main downwards contribution to the index coming from broadly stagnant output levels,” said HSBC economist David Faulkner. - Reuters
