Johannesburg - South Africa's net gold and foreign exchange reserves fell in January to $44.918 billion from $45.479 billion in December, Reserve Bank data showed on Friday.

Gross reserves declined to $49.350 billion from $49.587 billion in December while the forward position fell to $3.514 billion in January, from $3.584 billion the previous month. - Reuters
