Exam reprieve for some advisers

The Financial Services Board is letting some financial advisers off the hook in its drive to improve the qualification levels of the people who give you financial advice and sell you financial products.

All financial advisers had until June 30 to write examinations aimed at ensuring that they meet the requirements of the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act when giving you advice or selling you products. Those who on individual application will be given temporary exemption include representatives of financial services providers who sell simple risk life assurance products.
