The Financial Services Board (FSB) warns against dealing with an organisation called The Eagles. The Eagles is not an authorised financial services provider and you should exercise caution when dealing with this entity, it says.

It has been brought to the attention of the Registrar of Financial Services Providers that The Eagles purports to help those in need. It professes to make a “real difference to people financially by providing an effective and flexible system to help them to improve their lives and to close the outrageous gap between the poor and the rich”. The entity is promising participants exorbitant returns on their money of 200 percent in 60 days to about 800 percent in six months.

The FSB reminds consumers who want to conduct financial services with an institution or individual to check beforehand with the FSB on either the toll free number (0800 110 443) or on www.fsb.co.za as to whether or not such institution or individual is authorised to render financial services.
