WBHO grows SA roads orders 26%

Pretoria - Listed construction and engineering group WBHO reported on Tuesday that it had grown its South African roads and earthworks order book by 26 percent from June to September, with a further R1.2 billion secured by this cluster after September.The group revealed at the Macquarie CEO Conference that its total roads and earthworks order book increased by 28 percent to R3.88 billion in September from R3.04 billion in June.

It said the South African order book for this cluster increased to R3.2 billion from R2.5 billion while the roads and earthworks order book for Africa increased 36 percent to R664 million from R487 million in June.

However, the group’s consolidated order book declined by 11.5 percent to R37.8 billion in September from R42.7 billion in June.

The total order book for the building and civil engineering cluster dropped by 22 percent to R673 billion in September from R8.68 billion in June.
