Cape Town - Police are investigating a case of murder after a teenager was gunned down in Bishop Lavis.
Police spokesperson FC van Wyk confirmed that a man was fatally shot outside the building in Myrtle Road.
"This office confirm a shooting incident in Myrtle Road Bishop Lavis where a 16-year-old male was shot and fatally wounded," Van Wyk said.
"It is alleged that the victim appeared in Bishop Lavis Magistrates' Court on a possession of drugs charge and was on his way home when he was shot in front of Disa Court in Myrtle Road Bishop Lavis.
"A murder case has been opened for investigation. The shooting is believed to be gang related."
Later on Thursday, a man was arrested in connection with the murder.
"This office can confirm that a 21-year-old man has been arrested this afternoon in Bishop Lavis. He is due to appear in the Bishop Lavis Magistrates Court on a charge of murder once charged," Van Wyk said.
