Cape Town – There has been yet another postponement in the case against Howard Oliver who is accused of the murder, rape and aggravated robbery of 16-year-old Franziska Blöchliger.

Blochliger was murdered on March 7, 2016, in the Tokai Forest while she was out for a jog.

Oliver had earlier testified how he desperately needed money to pay his child's creche fees, or else his child would be turned away from the school.

He said he needed R200 and decided to rob Franziska of her iPhone.

His two co-accused – Jerome Moses and Daniel Easter – were each fined R5 000 or 12 months in jail for being in possession of Franziska's cellphone.

The sentence was suspended for five years since both men were unemployed and unable to pay the fine.

High Court Judge Katharine Savage said on Monday: "The matter is postponed for further DNA evidence and the accused will remain in custody."

The matter was postponed until May, 8.
