Mall comes to standstill after store robbery

Cape Town – One person has been shot in a cellphone store robbery in a Parow shopping mall on Tuesday. 

Two armed men fled with an undisclosed number of cellphones after entering the store and threatening the employees. 

In a preliminary report released by SAPS, the business robbery at a shopping centre in Parow occurred at about 3.30pm on Tuesday.

"According to reports two unidentified males entered the cellular telephone shop, they were positively armed and they threatened the employees," police spokesperson FC van Wyk said.

"They took an undisclosed amount cellular telephones and fled the scene. Whilst fleeing from the scene they shot and wounded one person in the arm. It is unknown what type of vehicle was used to flee from the mall.

"Our Crime Scene investigators is still on the scene investigating."
