Cape Town – Henri van Breda broke down in court as the audio of his call with Emergency Communication Centre operator Janine Philander was played.

Philander said that Henri sounded a bit hesitant.

“I heard what sounded to me like a giggle, and my initial thought was that it was a prank call,” said Philander.

Emergency Communication Centre takes calls for police, fire and ambulance said Philander. She said that she was on duty on the morning when she received his call at 07:12am on January 27 2015.

Some of the remarks Philander made in court this morning:

"On that day he sounded to he hesitant to make the call"

"He sounded the same throughout the call, no up and down."

"At that time I couldn't get out of my head the way he sounded. He sounded hesitant".
