After a completely sold-out run in Doha, Qatar, the Lilliput Children’s Theatre Company’s new show, Cinderella, will be premiering at the Baxter Theatre this month.

This modernised pantomime will run from Monday, December 19 until December 24 at 10.30am.

There are only six performances of Cinderella, and the show will be staged in the main theatre at the Baxter.

The much-loved fairytale is a narrative of a sad and lonely girl who lives with her evil stepsisters.

One day they all get an invitation to the Prince's Ball.

Cinderella's fairy godmother grants her wish and sends her to the ball, where she spends all night dancing with Prince Charming.

At the stroke of midnight she rushes out of the palace, as instructed by her fairy godmother, leaving behind her glass slipper. Prince Charming vows to find the beautiful girl who has stolen his heart and, when he finds her, they get married and live happily ever after.

It's a classic fairytale for the whole family to enjoy over the Christmas holidays.

Cinderella is one of the world's most loved and best-known fairytales, and is written and directed by Elton John Duffy ( Edgemead), who has been producing children's theatre and delighting audiences for the past 23 years.

This is a true pantomime with loads
of audience participation and popular songs from Justin Bieber, The Black Eyed Peas, Bruno Mars, Justin Timberlake and Roxette.

Cinderella was last performed in Cape Town in 1993 and was Duffy’s first professional production.

To celebrate his 23 years in children’s theatre, this production has been reworked by Duffy and given a modern twist.

Cinderella stars Desle McConney (Athlone) as Buttons, Liande Valentyn (Grassy Park) as the fairy godmother, Shaun Klaasen (Rondebosch) as Prince Charming, Andrew Lightley (Cape Town) as Augusta, Kyle Seconna (Somerset West) as Petronella, Carmen Maarman (Belhar) as William and Monique Rockman (Blue Downs) as Cinderella.

Cinderella is a fantastic festive season show that is not to be missed.
