THE body of a Steenberg man was found at Rocky Beach in Muizenberg yesterday.

A city law enforcement unit, a police diving unit and NSRI volunteers recovered the body of Premduth Parboo, 59, from rocks at the beach yesterday morning.

Disaster Risk Management spokesman Wilfred Solomons-Johannes said Parboo was believed to have been fishing when he was washed off the rocks and was presumed to have drowned.

Shark spotters at the beach reported a body floating about 40m off-shore between Baileys Cottage and Surfers Corner on Saturday afternoon.

Police later found a set of dentures, baseball cap, a packet of cigarettes and spectacles close by.
