A cyclist was killed in an apparent hit-and-run accident on Sir Lowry’s Pass in Gordon’s Bay, Cape Town, on Sunday morning, Western Cape paramedics said.

“ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene and found the patient in the middle of the lane. Another ambulance service was already in attendance,” ER24 spokesman Russel Meiring said.

On assessment, paramedics found that the man had already succumbed to his multiple fatal injuries. Unfortunately, nothing more could be done for him and he was declared dead on the scene.

“It is believed that the man was cycling up the pass when he was hit by a vehicle. The vehicle in question was apparently not found on the scene.

“Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations,” Meiring said. – African News Agency
