FRESH: Omid Djaliliwill dish up some top-class originality

BRITISH-IRANIAN stand up comic Omid Djalili will perform at the Grand Arena at GrandWest on October 27 at 8pm.
Djalili was born in London to Iranian Baha’i parents and first came under the comedy spotlight at the 1995 Edinburgh Festival. Since then his unique style of comedy has enabled his career to blossom.
Acclaimed not only as a stand up comedian, Djalili has appeared in films such as The Mummy, Gladiator, Spy Game, Modigliani, Sky Captain & The World of Tomorrow, Casanova, The Allottment, Pirates of the Caribbean III, and most recently in Mr Nice and Big Fat Gypsy Gangster.
He has also done a fair amount of TV work, with The Paul Reiser Show being the most recent. He has been commissioned to do his own series for BBC1, The Omid Djalili Show. Some consider him to be one of the funniest, freshest and most original comedians in Britain today.
Djalili’s appeal extends beyond UK borders, which has seen him on stage in Australia, Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Holland, Sweden, Norway and Slovakia.
He most recently he performed in Qatar for the emir where he shared a stage with Bill Clinton.
The support act for the show will be Deep Fried Man.
