They came from every suburb and neighbourhood - each with a cross to bear. Voters yesterday stood in queues, some for long hours and others for minutes. By 9am, two hours after stations had been due to open, the IEC reported that 95 percent of stations were open. There were however, some cases where voting was off to a slow start. But a jovial atmosphere made up for what, in some cases, proved to be a lengthy wait.
