Le Clos withdraws from 200m final

South Africa's Chad le Clos withdraws from final

Burt Le Clos, father of South African gold medalist Chad le Clos today confirmed that his son has pulled out of the men's 200m individual medley (IM) final, according to radio station, 5fm.

Le Clos said the decision was taken in order for Chad to focus on the 100m butterfly heats and potential semi-final race today.

Chad Le Clos qualified for the 200m IM final yesterday, but should he swim the race, he would be swimming in his second, if not third race of the day, with the 100m butterfly heats and semi-final also scheduled today.
