Two children died in a fire that destroyed 14 shacks in Fisantekraal in Durbanville in the early hours of Monday morning.
The fire also displaced 15 people.
The City’s Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson Liezl Moodie said: "Two minors died as a result of fatal burn wounds in Goedverwaght Street, Fisantekraal."
She said two women and two children were taken to a nearby hospital.
The cause of the fire is still being investigated.
