GET your paws up, little monsters, Lady Gaga is coming.
Big Concerts is set to make a “big announcement” this morning but fans have decided that all signs point to Gaga’s imminent arrival on our shores.
The announcement was expected at 7.30am today on 5fm during Gareth Cliff’s breakfast show.
Clues posted on 5fm’s website had fans going gaga.
“Five Grammy awards, 13 MTV awards, 23 million records sold, 64 million singles sold, five top 40 number one hits on 5fm.
“And now: coming to South Africa to perform live in Cape Town and Johannesburg.”
Fans surmised that this could only mean that Gaga’s Born This Way Ball concert tour was adding South African dates to its itinerary. The GagaMedia website on Friday posted an article headlined “Lady Gaga is set to tour in South Africa”. It gave November 30 and December 3 as dates for Johannesburg and Cape Town and said tickets were expected to go on sale tomorrow.
Concerts would be held at Johannesburg’s FNB Stadium and the Cape Town Stadium.
Social networks have been ablaze with speculation.
“Hoping it’s Gaga! What a show that would be,” wrote a fan. Another said: “Lady Gaga is coming! I can die a happy monster now.”
Gaga, who is performing in Australia, has not responded to the scores of Tweets asking if the rumours are true.
“So, it looks like Lady Gaga is coming to SA,” read one Yweet.
Heat Magazine tweeted: “Have you heard little monsters? @ladygaga tour dates for SA will be announced on Monday. Paws up!”
