Three people died and three were injured in a three-car crash on the N2 near Grabouw in the early hours of Sunday morning, Western Cape paramedics said.

It was believed that two cars collided and a third then crashed into them, ER24 spokesman Pieter Rossouw said.

“When ER24 paramedics arrived on (the) scene they found severely damaged vehicles in the road and on the side of the road.

“After assessment they found that tree people had sadly already succumbed to their injuries and there was nothing paramedics could do for them. Over and above the deceased patients, there were three others with injuries ranging from minor to moderate.”

ER24 paramedics treated and transported one patient to Helderberg Hospital for further treatment. The remaining patients were treated and transported to the same hospital by other medical services on the scene.

The cause of the accident was unknown, Rossouw said. – African News Agency
