JAZZ greats David Sanborn and Joe Sample are to give a concert in Cape Town next month.
American alto saxophonist Sanborn, 66, and Sample, 73, are to share a stage at the GrandWest Grand Arena on July 10.
Sanborn has been hailed by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the greatest saxophonists of the past four decades.
The award-winning musician has performed with such musical greats as James Brown and Stevie Wonder, David Bowie and Eric Clapton.
Pianist and composer Sample has treated audiences for 40 years to his interpretations of classics by such renowned jazz composers as Scott Joplin, Jelly Roll Morton, the Gershwins, Al Jolson, Duke Ellington, and Fats Waller.
A pioneer of contemporary jazz piano, Sample has toured with many well-known musicians, including Marvin Gaye, Tina Turner, BB King, Eric Clapton, Randy Crawford and Anita Baker.
He was a co-founder of legendary jazz band The Crusaders.
