SAFAs president Danny Jordaan sent messages of support to the family of Neil Tovey, who is recovering in hospital after a heart attack.
Jordaan said he was shocked to learn about his misfortune and wished the Safa director a speedy recovery. “We trust he will pass through this challenge.”
Tovey’s brother Mark said the former Bafana Bafana captain was in a critical condition and doctors were fighting hard to stabilise him.
“He suffered a heart attack while training this afternoon and was rushed to hospital. We await the doctor’s report and the next few hours are going to be critical.”
The 54-year-old legend played 52 international games and more than 634 times domestically during his 20-year career.
