Two more killed in vigilante attacks
TWO more people murdered in vigilante attacks in Khayelitsha at the weekend brings to seven the number of mob killings in a space of nine days.
Two men aged 21 and 33 were allegedly part of a group of robbers who preyed on residents in some parts of Site C, claimed residents who spoke on condition that their names would not published.
Police spokesman FC van Wyk said yesterday the 33-year-old man was found with multiple wounds to the head, on a field at Taiwan informal settlement in Site C on Saturday, while the 21-year-old was found beaten, stabbed and dumped in a sewerage dam yesterday morning.
A Site C resident said the two men were part of a group of thugs who robbed people.
He said the men were attacked at the weekend after they had been identified by residents of D Section.
“On Saturday one person was attacked and killed.
“I am not sure what he did, but I know he was associated with the guys who were beaten last week. Today (Sunday) we saw this one floating in this sewerage dam. People say he is from D section here in Site C,” he said.
Last Sunday and Monday three
