Today marks two years since Anni Dewani was murdered in Khayelitsha while on honeymoon with her husband Shrien Dewani.
On the Facebook page, Anni Hindocha (aka Dewani) - What Really Happened, run by her relatives, it said: “Please light a candle for Anni on Diwali which runs for five days from the 13th November.”
Judgment is expected in the case of Xolile Mngeni, who has been on trial in the Western Cape High Court for her murder. He has denied kidnapping, robbing and murdering Anni, crimes the State believes were orchestrated by Shrien Dewani.
In August Mziwamadoda Qwabe was sentenced to 25 years’ imprisonment for his role in Anni’s killing and shortly after Anni’s murder chauffeur Zola Tongo pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 18 years’ imprisonment.
SA authorities are trying to have Dewani extradited from the UK so he can stand trial in Cape Town. His case is expected to proceed in a UK court on December 3.
