Motivational fund-raiser
Strong4Charity “Standing strong for those who can’t” will have a fund-raiser at Elkanah school, Sunningdale Campus on Saturday from 11am to 1.30pm. Interactive literary hour
The US Consulate General’s American Corner at the Cape Town Central Library, Darling Street, USinfo@Central, will host an interactive literary hour with visiting African-American writer, poet, and professor at Davidson College, North Carolina, Dr Brenda Flanagan, on Friday from 11am to 12pm. She will share a selection of her works, as well as insights into her creative writing process. Call 021 702 7368.
Egyptian Society Day School
“The Great Archaeologists and their Legacies” is the theme for the Day School at The Egyptian Society of South Africa on July 28 at 10am at the Chisholm Room, UCT College of Music, with three lectures by Keith Grenville, Anlen Boshoff and Prof Anthony Humphreys and a buffet luncheon (which will be served at the Baxter Theatre).
