Leatrice Eiseman
A leading colour guru as well as some of South Africa’s top décor, trend and design experts are on the line-up for the Decorex Design Dialogue conference in Durban on August 7.
The keynote speaker will be American colour expert Leatrice Eiseman – executive director of The Pantone Colour Institute and founder of the Eiseman Centre for Colour Information and Training. She will discuss international colour trends as well as the 2013 Plascon Colour Forecast, a look at next year’s colour trends and will be joined by decorators and designers.
Design Dialogue is aimed at connecting the South African design community and stimulating exchange and discussion in all areas, says Decorex South Africa portfolio director, Sherri Chipps.
“In curating a line-up of speakers across all the design disciplines and with a global perspective, we are hoping to encourage a new way of thinking that will see more cross pollination and fresh insights in the worlds of décor and design.”
From award-winning interior decorator Stephen Falcke to trendsetter extraordinaire Neville Trickett, the presenters at Design Dialogue have been selected not only for their achievements but also for what they can bring to the debate.
Speakers in Durban include Trickett, London, Johannesburg and Durban-based jeweller Kirsten Goss, celebrated design couple Richard Stretton and Angela Shaw of Koop and the Shaw Sisters, as well as eclectic interior designer Ruth Duke. The host is interior designer Grant Webster.
Design Dialogue is open to industry professionals, particularly those involved in the fields of interior design and decor, architecture and design as well as the public.
* Design Dialogue will be held at Docklands Hotel, Point Waterfront, on Tuesday August 7 from 9am to 1pm (registration is at 8am). The cost is R600 and includes refreshments.
