Antique jewellery experts Geoff and Corinne Saunders, pictured, will be at the Christmas Antique Faire, La Lucia Mall, Durban, on Sunday, December 2.
Geoff served a traditional craftsman’s apprenticeship in Hatton Gardens, London, making jewellery and silverware. He studied at the Sir John Cass College of Art in London, in all aspects of jewellery and gemmology, and is a certified evaluator for estate and insurance purposes.
His commissions include a film trophy for Goldie Hawn and he was involved in the manufacture of a platinum bikini for Anneline Kriel when she became Miss World in 1974. He designed settings for the “Sterns Star”, at the time the largest brilliant cut diamond in the world, worn by Kriel.
Corinne creates fashionable jewellery using antique pieces and gemstones, and gives talks on various aspects of jewellery. – Lifestyle Reporter
