Insure your car, home and valuables with iWYZE
by Sandy Griffiths (Metz Press)
If you missed Sandy Griffiths’s “Easy Pewter Projects” and “Pewter It”, you can now get it all in her latest book, “Pewter Impressions”.
This latest offering is a collection of 30 original projects, in pewter of course, and each includes step-by-step instructions and clear pictures of all the finished projects. She also supplies the templates for all the projects.
The author takes you from the rudiments of the craft to intricate and stunning projects.
Griffiths lists all the tools available to crafters, but she does mention that only four of them are essential. Beginners’ exercises explain the basics so that crafters learn the art of embossing before they are able to move on to adding lustre, radiance and dimension to their design.
The projects include designs which one can use to embellish jewellery boxes, book covers, or even to create a clock face, coasters or just decorative motifs.
I consider myself creative in a rudimentary way, so I have never ventured into working with metals. However, this book puts working with pewter even within my reach. – Olga Accolla
