Cracks continue to widen in the ANC Youth League in KwaZulu-Natal, this time with the disputed removal at the weekend of Jomo Sibiya as the league’s eThekwini chairman.
Members of the league’s regional executive committee – aligned to league president Julius Malema – passed a motion of no confidence on Sibiya, thereby deposing one of Malema’s fiercest critics from his position.
Mduduzi Khuzwayo, a member of the regional executive committee, said the decision was taken because Sibiya engaged in activities that sought to divide the league in the region.
He claimed that Sibiya had insulted fellow leaders at a meeting on Thursday and referred to them as “fools”.
“Not only that, but he organised people to come and protest outside the Commercial City building where we held our meeting.”
Sibiya said the decision would not stand.
“That vote of no confidence was not only unprocedural, but also unconstitutional.”
He said leaders of league branches were expected to meet at the City Hall Monday afternoon to deliberate on the matter.

Please go jomo, you are not even newsworhty. We can only tolerate ANCYL President on the news. We want a united ANCYL during these trying and hard times. Is only our president who is not allowed to go even if some people expel him in the ANC. Remember only one JM in SA.
